Nigel is a charming Mini-Aussie/Papillon mix, approximately 4-5 years old and weighing 29 pounds. He boasts a darling underbite and a tail that curls with joy! Nigel is a deeply affectionate soul with a hidden playful side. Initially, he can be a bit reserved around new people and animals, a common trait for Aussies. However, once he feels comfortable, he blossoms into a relaxed and loving companion, incredibly loyal to his special person or people.
Nigel's previous life was a happy one, spent with a single owner and a feline friend in a suburban home. Sadly, his owner had to move due to health reasons and could no longer keep him, entrusting him to his vet with the hope that he would find a wonderful new family. The vet then reached out to us, and Nigel came to us as a foster. He was initially confused and missed his human dearly, waiting by the door for days.
He has since adapted to his foster home in a downtown loft and has grown to trust his foster human and his foster brother, Cai, a lively Welsh Corgi. Adjusting to new people and dogs has been his biggest learning curve, as his previous life offered limited social interactions.
Now a seasoned city dweller, Nigel greets neighbors with excellent manners and enjoys his walks, whether with or without Cai. City noises and the occasional squirrel don't faze him. He even likes accompanying his foster on trips to local coffee shops, where he happily people-watches at their feet! If you're seeking a gentle, devoted, and lifelong friend, Nigel is your boy. He thrives on connection with his people and his home, and with his impeccable manners and loving upbringing, he's a truly exceptional companion. Ongoing Health
Nigel's adoption fee of $250 includes his spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if applicable), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. All of our pets are eligible for a two-week trial.
Training & Support
While Nigel has shown excellent manners, he is still working on building confidence around new people and animals. Patience and positive reinforcement will be key to his continued success.
