Daffy is a delightful 2-year-old, neutered male Plott Hound Mix, weighing in at 65 pounds. He's a resilient and fun-loving boy who was rescued from the euthanasia list at BARC in Houston, Texas, just in the nick of time! Thanks to the efforts of Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue and his amazing foster mom, Daffy is now ready to find his furever family. He thrives on activity and companionship, and he absolutely adores playing with other dogs! Daffy even attends doggy daycare, where he's a star student. He's a loyal, energetic, and fun companion looking for a home where he can truly thrive.
Ideal Home
Daffy would do best in a home with other playful dogs and an active family who can match his energy. Due to his size and exuberance, he'd be a better fit for a home with children over 10, as he sometimes forgets his own strength when he gets excited.
Ongoing Health
Daffy is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and has been neutered.
Training & Support
Daffy is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he views his crate as his safe space, especially during meals. He knows his name and will come when called. He enjoys playing fetch and being by your side. Like many young dogs, Daffy is still perfecting his leash manners, as he tends to pull and zigzag, but he's eager to learn with consistent guidance. When left unsupervised, Daffy might move household items to the yard, so crating him while you're away is recommended. With patience and continued training, he will blossom into the wonderful companion he's destined to be. He uses a slow feeder bowl to enjoy his food at a steady pace.
