Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix who was found abandoned in a cardboard box by the side of a busy road. Despite her rough start, Gina is now in a loving foster home and ready to find her forever family. She’s a playful pup who enjoys tug-of-war with her smaller foster siblings and keeps her toys neatly collected in her bed. Gina has learned to play fetch and is also good at entertaining herself. She’s crate trained and working on house training, with no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety. Gina does prefer to eat treats alone and is in a chewing phase, so she'll need guidance on appropriate chew toys.
Ideal Home
Gina would thrive in an active home with someone who will play with her daily. She would do best with older, dog-savvy children (10+) as she can be jumpy when excited. A home with another dog is recommended to keep her company and help with her energy. Gina needs a family that understands how to raise a large, active puppy into a well-mannered adult and is prepared to provide regular socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment. A cat-free home is recommended as she can be too enthusiastic around neighborhood cats.
Ongoing Health
Gina is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Gina is crate trained and working on house training. She walks well on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She prefers to eat treats alone and is in the puppy velociraptor stage, so she will need direction on appropriate things to chew. Introductions to new dogs should be slow due to a past attack, though she currently lives happily with small and large dogs.
