About Loki

Loki is a brave, bold, and endlessly entertaining 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix who weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother, Wanda, and littermates and has grown up loved and cared for in a foster home. Loki is the fearless ringleader of his litter, always the first to explore something new and announce his presence with confidence. He's an expert climber and loves to play keep-away with his toys, often waking his siblings for playtime.

As an older puppy, Loki still has plenty of energy but is also settling into being an incredible companion. He is potty trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. While fearless, he can be a little hesitant with new experiences, but he quickly overcomes it. He loves food and will happily make his way to the front of the line for treats. Despite his playful antics, Loki has a very sweet side and transforms into a cuddly lap buddy after a day of adventures. He loves people and other dogs and greets everyone with enthusiasm. He has experience with crates and children, but his interactions with cats have not yet been tested. He is continuing to work on his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn.

Ideal Home

Loki is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature into an exceptional adult dog. Homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog are preferred to help mentor and guide Loki. If you don't currently have another dog, a detailed plan for continued socialization through structured training classes, supervised daycare, or regular playdates with trusted dogs is required. Due to his age, homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are preferred.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions are mentioned in the description.

Training & Support

Loki is potty trained but may have occasional accidents in a new home. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building his lifelong confidence.
