About Peanut – A Gentle Soul in Need of a Special Home

Peanut is a sweet, stocky little boy with a soft blonde coat and stunning golden eyes. This 2-year-old (as of August 2024) is one of Bobby’s siblings, and he’s looking for a very special person to be his safe haven. Peanut has had a tough past, leaving him extremely fearful and cautious around new people. When he was first met, he wouldn’t let anyone near him for months. But once he trusted his caregiver, he showed his true self—a sweet, gentle, and incredibly loving dog who just wants to be close to his person. His loyalty is so strong, he’s jokingly called “Velcro.” Peanut needs a patient and understanding adopter who will give him the time and love he needs to feel safe. With trust and care, he will become the most devoted companion you could ever hope for.

Ideal Home

A calm, quiet environment with a patient person who can help him build confidence. An adopter experienced with fearful dogs or willing to learn. Someone who will cherish and dote on him as he blossoms into the loving dog he’s meant to be.

Ongoing Health

Peanut is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Peanut is extremely fearful and cautious around new people, and will need patience and time to build trust. Once trust is earned, he is incredibly loving and loyal.
