Addie is a 4.5-year-old, spayed female Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs about 45 pounds. She was rescued from the streets of Houston, where she was found underweight and suffering from mange. Despite her difficult past, Addie is a resilient survivor who is quickly learning what it means to be a cherished house dog. She is a willing and promising pupil, eager to embrace her new lease on life! Addie is already crate trained and sleeps through the night in her kennel. While she's still perfecting her house manners, she has shown no issues when trusted to roam freely and may only have occasional accidents as she adjusts to her new home's routine.
Ideal Home
Addie would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can roam and run. She would love a male dog sibling of similar size (40-60 lbs) to cuddle and sleep with. She also wishes for plenty of couches to lounge on as she enjoys her "Soft Life Era." Due to not having prior experience with children or cats, we recommend a home with children who are old enough to understand and respect animal behavior cues, with supervised introductions until all parties are comfortable. Addie would likely do well with younger children but may prefer calmer, older pre-teens and teenagers. She needs a family that can provide her with plenty of love and affection.
Ongoing Health
Addie was rescued with mange and was significantly underweight. She has since received veterinary care and is recovering well.
Training & Support
Addie is crate trained and has shown no destructive behavior when left alone. While she is doing well with house training, she may have occasional accidents as she settles into a new routine. Addie is very food-motivated and will try to eat other pets' food, so feeding her separately is recommended. She is learning that she will receive regular meals and is improving with this. Addie requires daily walks of 20-30 minutes, twice a day.
