Toby came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own—his previous family simply went through some life changes. Now, he’s ready to find a forever home that can keep up with his energy, smarts, and spirit! Toby is very intelligent and well-trained. He has completed board and train and requires a family that will continue his training, which is critical for his breed mix. Toby walks beautifully on a leash and already knows a list of commands including Heel, Sit-Stay, Down-Stay, and Place. He's eager to please and thrives when he has strong structure and direction. Otherwise, he will find his own outlet for a job, and you may not like what he chooses! Toby is the perfect mix of doodle curls and Aussie brains. He’s smart, loyal, and ready to learn even more tricks with his new family. As an Aussiedoodle, Toby has that adorable "teddy bear" look, but those curls come with a little bit of homework!
Ideal Home
Toby is the kind of dog who's happiest when he has a purpose. He would love a home that can keep both his mind and body engaged - think hiking buddy, running partner, or even learning new skills and tasks. Give him a job to do, and you'll see him shine. We are looking for:
- A fenced-in yard: This is a requirement so Toby has a secure space to run off his energy.
- Older children: While he’s friendly, his high energy might be a bit much for toddlers. We recommend a home with older children who can join in on the fun.
- An active lifestyle: If you’re looking for a hiking buddy or a backyard sprinter, Toby is your guy.
Ongoing Health
Toby has a beautiful low-to-no shedding coat, which is great for your allergies but does require regular maintenance to prevent mats.
- Daily brushing: To keep his curls soft and tangle-free, Toby will need a quick daily brush-through (especially behind the ears and on his legs).
- Professional grooming: Expect to visit a professional groomer every 6 to 8 weeks for a full haircut, bath, and nail trim to keep him looking and feeling his best.
