Hi there! My name is Cooper, and I'm a goofy, loving, and loyal boy looking for a calm, forever home where I can finally feel safe and understood. I’ve been at the shelter for a while now, and no one really knows why—I'm smart, cuddly, and full of love once you get to know me! I’m not much of a barker, but I do love to "talk" to my people. I’ve been abandoned before, so meeting new people can be scary for me. I may bark at first, but it’s just because I’m nervous. Once I trust you (especially if you bring treats), you’ll be in my pack forever. I’m house-trained, trustworthy outside of a crate, and love both outdoor adventures and couch snuggles. I’m also super food-motivated, so training with me is fun and easy! With structure, exercise, and love, I’ll show you just how amazing of a companion I can be. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, low-key best friend, I’m your guy. I just need someone to believe in me. I am a Priority Pet!
Ideal Home
I'd do best in a quiet home with no children, or only older kids who truly understand and respect boundaries. I need a confident dog-savvy adopter who will commit to helping me build trust and confidence through positive reinforcement and patience. I’m reactive to most people when walking, so I’ll need someone who is willing to work on this with me using calm exposure and consistency.
Ongoing Health
Pawmetto Lifeline is offering FREE basic medical care for LIFE for Cooper! This includes annual exams, core vaccines, free annual HW tests, and the cost of medications plus 10% (excluding HW/Flea prevention) from Pawmetto Lifeline.
My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention, plus a microchip that is already registered to you!
Training & Support
I’m super food-motivated, so training with me is fun and easy! With structure, exercise, and love, I’ll show you just how amazing of a companion I can be. I may bark at new people because I’m nervous due to past abandonment, but I promise to be loyal once I trust you. I’m also reactive to most people when walking, so I’ll need someone willing to work on this with calm exposure and consistency.
