Schaefer is a magnificent one-year-old German Shepherd who's as handsome as he is huge, weighing in at a solid 140 pounds! He's been with us since he was just a pup, and it's time for this smart, loyal boy to finally find his forever family. Schaefer is 100% German Shepherd, confirmed by DNA testing, and he absolutely thrives with dogs of all sizes, having been fostered with companions from 10 to over 80 pounds. He's a big boy with a lot of love to give and needs a home where he has plenty of space to run and play.

Ideal Home

Schaefer would be happiest in a home with acreage and a securely fenced yard. He needs a living situation without shared walls, meaning a standalone house is a must. His new family should be familiar with the German Shepherd breed and understand their needs for structure and training. He cannot live with young children or cats.

Ongoing Health

Schaefer is a young, healthy boy who has been neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Schaefer is very smart and will benefit from consistent training and structure to help him reach his full potential. He is reactive and has a powerful bark, so continued guidance in managing this will be important for success.
