Zac is a 5-year-old, neutered Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs around 60 pounds. He was rescued from a local shelter after showing signs of discomfort in his back leg. X-rays revealed he needed FHO surgery, a procedure to improve comfort and mobility. Zac has fully healed from the surgery and requires no further medical attention or medication. He is a loyal and affectionate companion with a wonderful balance of playful energy and a laid-back cuddle bug personality. Zac enjoys spending time with other dogs and has proven to be respectful of their cues during playtime. He walks calmly on leash and doesn't react to other dogs.
Inside the home, Zac is a relaxed and low-energy dog who loves being near his people. He is house-trained and crate-trained and happily enters his crate for a treat. Zac absolutely adores people and thrives on attention, belly rubs, and gentle pets. He's known to be a bit of a conversationalist, especially if dinner is late, and his vocal personality is sure to bring a smile to your face. Zac has experience with dogs of all sizes and gets along wonderfully with them. He has also been comfortable meeting new people and riding in the car. He enjoys toys and treats and has not shown any signs of resource guarding. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he would do well with a family willing to continue teaching him not to jump up when excited.
Ideal Home
Zac thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He seems happiest when he has another dog around or people nearby to share his life with. He's looking for a devoted companion who will shower him with love and enjoy his company.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully recovered from his FHO surgery and requires no ongoing medical care or medication.
