About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs but is expected to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She has a personality that's a delightful blend of sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining. Coraline's quirky charm will have you smiling every day, especially when she initiates a game of peek-a-boo, waiting patiently for you to notice her before erupting into happy zoomies. She's a people-oriented pup who loves to be near her humans, following them around like a little shadow without being overly demanding. Her affection is shown in sweet puppy kisses or a gentle paw or nose resting against your leg. Coraline has a calm and balanced temperament, making her an excellent work-from-home companion. She's happy entertaining herself quietly with a toy or a bone, but also loves to be involved in your daily routine. She's social with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before continuing her play or exploration. Coraline is the perfect blend of playful and laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – she'll be your sidekick, shadow, and best friend all in one.
Ideal Home
Coraline is a low to medium energy pup who enjoys short bursts of play. She'd thrive in a home that appreciates a mix of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks to cozy evenings on the couch. She loves puzzle toys and other enrichment activities. She would benefit from a family that understands she's not yet fully confident in busy public areas, but with more exposure and socialization, she has the potential to be an amazing outdoor adventure buddy. She would absolutely adore a family that includes her in their outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. Coraline needs a home with a fenced yard and cannot live in an apartment or condo due to her potential nervousness in busy areas. She must have another dog in her forever home, as she thrives with canine companionship. She could happily live with older children and cats. Public dog parks are not recommended. She needs her human home more often than not, but would do well with doggy daycare a few days a week.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and any necessary vet care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is still working on leash training and needs additional practice to build confidence on walks. She is treat-motivated and will walk beside you with positive reinforcement. She alerts her foster by pacing at the back door or using a doggy door to go outside. A consistent potty schedule of every 3-4 hours is recommended initially until she settles into her new routine. She sleeps in her kennel at night but enjoys sleeping in her foster mom's bed. She also uses doggy stairs to get onto the bed.
