Meet Huichol!
Huichol is a handsome 6-month-old male who currently weighs 13 kgs and is expected to be a medium to large-sized dog. He is vaccinated and de-wormed. Huichol's journey began on January 14th, 2026, when he was born into foster care after his mother was rescued from the side of the highway while pregnant.
He's a big baby boy who still thinks he's a tiny puppy. Huichol adores cuddling and will lean his entire body weight against you, showering you with kisses. He has the most goofy and tender personality, and you'll win his heart with love and treats. He is very food-motivated and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement training. Huichol can be a little shy when meeting new people, taking a few minutes to warm up. He is scared of small children, so he would do best in a home with kids older than 12 years old. He is still working on his leash manners around other dogs and new people but is responding very well to positive training and listens attentively. He loves toys and car rides, and seems to enjoy playing in the water.
Ideal Home
Huichol would thrive in a home with older children (12+), friendly dogs, and a yard for him to enjoy. He is not a good fit for a home with cats.

Huichol is vaccinated and de-wormed.
Training & Support
Huichol is working on his leash manners with other dogs and new people but is responding very well to positive training and is a good listener. He is potty trained with yard access.

- Approved adopters are matched with flight companions (flight angels) traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet them at the airport to welcome your new pup home.
Transportation
Huichol is located near Bucerias, Mexico. Transport to the US and Canada is available. During the summer months, if a Canadian flight angel is unavailable, dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border.
