Brandy and Bella are a bonded pair of gorgeous little princesses ready for their second chance at a happy life. Brandy is an 8-year-old, 9lb sweetheart who has been diagnosed with diabetes, managed with twice-daily insulin injections with her meals. She also has Cushing's, for which she takes liquid Vetoryl. Her nine-year-old, 16lb sister, Bella, is a true lovebug who wants to be near or touching you, greeting you with squeals of joy when you return home. These two are deeply bonded to their foster dad and follow him everywhere, insisting on laying in his office while he works and sleeping in his bed. They adore their daily walks and are speedy little troopers! Both girls are spayed, fully vetted, and vaccinated.
Ideal Home
These girls would do best in a home with a fenced-in backyard and a doggie door so they can easily let themselves out to potty. As Brandy's diabetes medication is being fine-tuned, she may sometimes need an extra potty break or a quicker trip outside, which is completely normal during this phase. Brandy is very fearful of bigger dogs. Bella prefers to be the alpha and gets along beautifully with dogs who let her lead. She will bark at strangers if her person is nearby. Due to their sensitivities, they will not be placed with children. We are looking for a patient, experienced adopter who is home most of the time, such as a retired individual or someone who works from home.
Ongoing Health
Brandy has diabetes, which is managed with twice-daily insulin injections and will require ongoing treatment. She also has Cushing's disease, managed with liquid Vetoryl. BFCACT has committed to sponsoring Brandy's medical treatment for her adopter.
Training & Support
While Brandy and Bella are doing well in the housetraining department, the need for a fenced-in yard and doggie door is important for their routine. Brandy is improving with her potty routine as her diabetes medication is fine-tuned. Bella loves stuffed toys, especially removing the squeaker. They can be nervous and fearful due to past experiences.
