Meet Stan! If you've been searching for a loyal best friend with the most adorable ears you've ever seen, Stan is the one for you. This charming 12-year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix weighs in at 28 pounds, making him the perfect medium-sized companion. He's just the right size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between.
Stan arrived at a high-kill shelter where he patiently waited for nearly a month to be chosen. As his time ran out, he was unfortunately placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, we were able to rescue both Stan and his kennel mate, Amy, just in the nick of time. When we picked him up, he was covered in ticks, more than we'd ever encountered on a single dog. After a much-needed bath, medication, and an abundance of love, Stan quickly realized he was finally safe. Witnessing him relax and regain his trust has been incredibly rewarding.
Stan can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little time, you'll discover an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy who adores affection. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, enjoys the company of children, and possesses a gentle, kind personality that makes him an easy addition to most families. And those ears? They're simply impossible not to fall in love with!
Stan has already overcome more than any dog should have to endure. Now, he's ready to experience the life every dog deserves—a warm bed, a loving family, and someone to call his own.
