Mavis is a sweet and gentle girl, born around February 2024. She had a loving home with an elderly woman in a remote Texas farmhouse until her owner was evicted. Despite this upheaval, Mavis has remained friendly and loves attention, shining with her soft, sweet personality once she feels comfortable. She's learning to walk on a leash and is doing great with crate training. Mavis can be a bit reserved with unfamiliar dogs at first, so she might do best as an only dog, or with slow, thoughtful introductions to a resident dog with someone experienced guiding the process. She needs patience and a calm environment to feel secure, but she has the potential to grow into a deeply loyal and loving companion.
Ideal Home
Mavis would thrive in a calm environment where she can build trust and feel secure. She could be a wonderful only dog, receiving all the attention herself, or she would be okay with another dog if introductions are slow and carefully managed by an experienced individual. All homes require visible fencing.
Ongoing Health
Mavis's adoption fee includes her spay, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and a health certificate for travel.
Training & Support
Mavis is learning to walk on a leash and has been introduced to crate training, both of which she is doing well with. She may need continued patience and a calm approach as she adjusts to new situations and builds confidence.
