Phoebe is a sweet and gentle girl who, after spending time in a noisy shelter, is now enjoying a more relaxed foster life. She's described as "Princess Phoebe" and is a cuddly and affectionate companion once she feels safe. She enjoys walks, lap time, and especially loves food!

Ideal Home

Phoebe would thrive in a home with a backyard. She needs a home that understands her need for correction and training, and an experienced adult home would be ideal. Older children are fine. While she has done well with some select larger dogs and a male Doberman, she needs to be the only dog in the home or with a larger male or female dog. She may guard her person or food, so careful introductions and management are key.

Ongoing Health

Phoebe recently had dental work with three extractions.

Training & Support

Phoebe needs training and correction, especially around food guarding and interacting with other dogs. She needs to learn to wait her turn for food and should be fed in a separate area. She has learned to go outside for potty breaks and is almost leash-trained. She can be a bit of a food guarder and may try to grab a person's food, so training to wait is important.
