Hi, I'm Vela! I'm a medium-energy girl who's described as incredibly pleasant and good-natured. My foster family says I'm friendly and easy-going, up for any kind of adventure, and the perfect balance of sassy and sweet! I love to keep watch over things and will let you know if anything suspicious is approaching, but don't worry, I'm not loud or disruptive – just an alert observer! I never chew things up and I'm happy to spend time in my crate overnight and during the day. I'm also okay with being left alone. I'm very polite when sharing my food and toys with humans, and I respect boundaries. I'm a curious girl who likes to see what's happening around the house, but I'm not clingy – the ideal blend of velcro dog and independent queen!
I'm a smart cookie and know many tricks, including sit, stay, down, off, come, and touch, plus some fancy obedience trial ones too! I love to learn, and I hope my forever family will want to keep the trick practice (and treats!) flowing. Puzzle toys and brain games are also a hit with me; I love working on a snuffle mat or a frozen Kong.

I'm working on staying calm outside the house when there's a lot going on, and practicing walking on a loose leash even when I see something fun to chase. My foster family says I'm easy to re-direct if I get startled or distracted.
