Kirby is a squishy, velvety lovebug who fancies herself a bit of a lap dog despite her buxom 65-pound frame. She’s a sweet girl who needs a stable furever home and a family committed to her health and happiness. Kirby has spent a bit of time in our clinic being treated for allergies. She is a clinic favorite who was described as “the sweetest girl who just wants love and affection”. Kirby has spent time in both foster and adoptive homes and has proven to be a wonderful companion. She’s very sweet and quiet and loves being with her humans. Kirby LOVES kids and is gentle with them, and she is house-trained. She is mostly a couch potato but gets the zoomies from time to time. She loves fruit and tennis balls, and is curious and smart. She also likes car rides. Kirby loves nicknames! Her favorites were KirbyBaby, Kirbanjo Bean, Peach Kirbler, and Mrs. Kirbapple. She hangs out nicely in the kitchen when you’re cooking and will politely sit to get pieces of cut fruit and veggies. Kirby is one of a kind, stealing hearts from day one with her adorable run to the food bowl. Being in a kennel all day is definitely not her thing, but she is food motivated and performs the most perfect sit. She loves cuddling too.
Ideal Home
Kirby would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit.
Ongoing Health
Kirby experienced medical neglect in her last placement and returned to the shelter after being abandoned. She has allergies that need to be managed, so her future family must be committed to her long-term care.
Training & Support
Kirby is house-trained. She is food motivated and performs a perfect sit.
