Charlie is a sweet, energetic 1½-year-old neutered Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix, weighing around 85-90 pounds. He was found left at a shelter and was sadly on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Thankfully, he received a second chance and is now eagerly awaiting his forever home! Charlie has a fun-loving personality and his absolute favorite thing to do is play ball. He'll chase and bring back any ball for another throw, but tennis balls are his special prize for a game of keep-away! He's a very smart boy who already knows "heel," "sit," "come," "stay," "off" (no jumping), and "nice/gentle" when taking treats. He's still working on "down," but with his intelligence and eagerness to learn, he could excel in advanced training. Charlie is ready to be someone's loyal and adventurous best friend!
Ideal Home
Charlie would do best in a home with teenage children or adults, as his enthusiastic play style might accidentally knock over smaller children. He would thrive with an active single person, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor adventures and would love an excellent hiking or running partner. He prefers female dogs over males. He has not been cat tested, and his high energy level might be too much for a feline companion. No tie-outs or electric fences will be permitted.
Ongoing Health
Charlie is up to date on vaccinations and is heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Charlie is crate trained and fully potty trained. He knows several commands and is eager to learn more. With his intelligence, he could easily excel in advanced training, agility, or even protection work.
