Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix with a heart of gold! She was found as a tiny puppy, abandoned in a cardboard box near a busy road. Despite her rough start, Gina is ready to trade her cardboard box for a loving home. She's a smart, playful pup who adores her foster family, including her small dog siblings. Gina loves a good game of tug-of-war and will often bring a toy to her canine friends, inviting them to play. While she's learning to be more confident around unfamiliar dogs, especially larger ones, due to a past negative experience, slow introductions will help her blossom. She lives harmoniously with small dogs (under 15 lbs) and large dogs (over 75 lbs) in her foster home. However, Gina is a bit too enthusiastic about neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home is recommended.
Ideal Home
Gina would thrive in an active home with someone who can provide plenty of daily play and mental stimulation. She would do best with older, dog-savvy children (10+) as she can be jumpy when excited and is still learning her size. A home with another dog would be wonderful for companionship and to help burn off her puppy energy. A cat-free environment is preferred.
Ongoing Health
Gina is a healthy, growing pup. She is up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed.
Training & Support
Gina is crate trained and doing well with house training, showing no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks nicely on a leash and doesn't exhibit signs of separation anxiety. Gina is in her "puppy velociraptor stage," so she'll need guidance on appropriate chew toys. She prefers to enjoy her treats independently. Continued positive reinforcement training and socialization will help her become a well-mannered adult.
