Maggie is the definition of a cuddle bug! This sweet, affectionate girl loves being close to her people and would happily spend the day curled up in your lap if you let her. She has a calm, easygoing personality that makes her a wonderful companion for cozy evenings and relaxing weekends.
Already fully house-trained, Maggie is ready to settle right into her new home. She loves soaking up attention, giving snuggles, and simply being wherever her favorite people are.
Maggie does have a high prey drive, so she'll do best with a family that can help manage her instincts and provide appropriate outlets for her energy. In return, you'll gain a loyal, loving best friend who will shower you with affection and make every day a little cozier.

When she arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Indiana, she tested positive for Heartworm.
The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like her is to be while going through treatments and recovering with a loving and forever family like yours.
If you choose to adopt, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support.
The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep me safe during recovery. The last step in the process is a follow-up test six months after treatment begins.
The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that she will fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes.

All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
