Goose is a delightful female Belgian Malinois mix with an approximate birthdate of July 14, 2024, and currently weighs around 50 lbs. She was initially facing euthanasia due to leash reactivity towards other dogs and people. However, after coming to us, she has made incredible progress and is now a truly amazing young girl! She was severely under-socialized, but with our dedicated work, she has learned so much. Goose is eager to continue building her confidence with a patient and understanding adopter.
Ideal Home
Goose would thrive in a home with a large, confident male dog who she can learn from and play with. She previously showed some issues with a female husky, so she might do best as the only female dog in the home, at least initially. She is wonderful with children and tends to stick close to them. While she's done well when left alone for short periods or when outside with her canine friend, she does experience some separation anxiety and barks/whines when she can hear you outside. An apartment might not be the ideal situation due to this.
Ongoing Health
Goose is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Training & Support
Goose is incredibly treat-motivated and learns quickly! She has mastered fetch and tug, has excellent recall, and is leash, crate, and house-trained. She also uses a dog door. Due to her separation anxiety, a heavy-duty bar crate is recommended when she needs to be left alone, rather than a standard wire crate, until she is fully settled and accustomed to your routine. She needs an adopter who will continue her socialization efforts to help her build confidence around new people and animals.
