Meet Gracie Mae! This five-year-old, 40-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound mix is a sweet and gentle soul with a beautiful white and golden coat. Gracie Mae thrives on routine and structure, which helps her feel confident and relaxed. She absolutely adores her stuffy toys and sturdy Benebones, and she has a playful side that shines during games of fetch! When it's time to wind down, Gracie Mae loves to snuggle up close, often resting her head on her person's face as if sharing a sweet secret. She's grown up in a busy household with children, including a neurodivergent child, and has handled all the activity with patience and calm. Her friendly and steady nature makes her comfortable with kids and the lively rhythm of family life. Gracie Mae has successfully lived with another dog and is generally comfortable around people. While her experience with cats is limited, her hound instincts might lead her to chase small animals on walks, so mindful introductions and attentive guidance will be key. Gracie Mae knows commands like "sit" and responds wonderfully to patient guidance and positive reinforcement. She is crate-trained and can rest calmly during the workday, but her happiest moments are spent with her people.
Ideal Home
Gracie Mae would thrive in a caring environment where someone is home much of the time to keep her engaged with play, walks, and connection. Her hound instincts may encourage her to chase small animals during walks, so this is something to be aware of.
Ongoing Health
Gracie Mae's vaccinations are up to date, she is spayed, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Gracie Mae has learned to go potty outside and understands the "go potty" command, but she is also accustomed to using pee pads indoors. Outdoor sounds and distractions can make her feel uncertain, and she doesn't currently signal when she needs to go outside, often preferring the comfort of her pee pads. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, routines like this can continue to improve. She sometimes feels unsure about delivery drivers or unfamiliar visitors, benefiting from gentle introductions.
