Sandy radiates innocence and sweetness, a true gem with the gentlest soul. Her eyes seem to look right into your heart, melting anyone she meets. Sandy is affectionate and quiet by nature, and while she may take a moment to warm up to new people, she becomes an incredibly loyal best friend once she does. She shows her affection through subtle leans and by taking small steps closer to her person. Sandy has an abundance of love to share.

Ideal Home

Sandy would thrive in a home with at least one other dog, as this helps build her confidence and she matches their energy beautifully, whether they're rambunctious or relaxed. She needs a patient family who can give her time to adjust to new surroundings. A secure, fenced yard is a must for her to safely explore as she settles in. She does best in a home with older, respectful children who understand her need for space.

Ongoing Health

Sandy is fully vetted, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, and is spayed. She also receives flea prevention and a 12-month heartworm preventative injection. She has tested negative for heartworm.

Training & Support

Sandy is fully crate trained and 100% potty trained, with no accidents in foster care. She walks beautifully on a leash, remaining non-reactive to common distractions, and enjoys car rides. While not highly treat-motivated, she can't resist Colby Jack cheese, which is great for administering medication. She is quiet and rarely barks. Sudden movements can make her skittish, so continued gentle reinforcement and patience will help her build confidence.

Transporation

Sandy is located in the Greater Houston area, Texas. Texas adopters must pick up directly from our Houston area facility. Transport to other states is available for an additional surcharge.
