Eddie

Eddie is a gentle, sweet, and sensitive young Labrador Mix who is approximately 1.5 years old and weighs about 37 lbs. He was found near his rescuer's home with his sister, who sadly passed away. Eddie was rescued to prevent him from returning to life on the streets. He is a bit nervous and shy, especially with physical contact, but with time, patience, and kindness, he opens up at his own pace. Eddie enjoys walks, does well on a leash, is playful, obedient, and affectionate, occasionally giving sweet kisses once he feels safe. He is sociable and gets along with other dogs, children, men, and women.

Ideal Home

Eddie will thrive in a calm and understanding environment where he feels secure, as he is sensitive to loud noises like fireworks and thunder. He needs a home that understands shy dogs and is willing to give him the time and space he needs to build trust. A home with a fenced backyard is preferred.

Ongoing Health

Eddie is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and has been tested for heartworm and common tick-borne diseases. He receives monthly preventative protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm.

Training & Support

Eddie is not house-trained. It is important to understand that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and require an adjustment period. Patience, understanding, and establishing a routine are crucial for building trust. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or those willing to hire a trainer, are strongly encouraged.

Transportation

Eddie is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted. Door-to-door delivery is available for a fee of $400 USD. The transport process includes scheduled trips, a contracted transport company, necessary legal documents and health certificates, and real-time updates during the journey.
