Troy Bolton

Troy Bolton is a handsome 2.5-year-old, 50lb white and black neutered male who came to us as a stray. Since his arrival, Troy has experienced significant fear, anxiety, and stress, which has manifested in chronic spinning, pacing leading to self-injury, panting, vocalizing, and barrier reactivity. These behaviors have been unresponsive to medical and enrichment interventions. Troy had a previous shelter stay in 2025 where he exhibited similar behaviors. While Troy has done well at offsite adoption events, on outings, and is gentle with other dogs in playgroups, he can no longer be humanely housed in the shelter due to his severe stress levels.

Ideal Home

We believe Troy would thrive in a home that can provide him with a calm and stable environment where he can decompress. There is no available information on Troy's behavior with children or cats, but it is likely that he will benefit from slow introductions to new people, animals, and situations.

Troy has been experiencing significant fear, anxiety, and stress, which has led to stereotypic behaviors and self-injury. These issues have not responded to medical or enrichment interventions.

Training & Support

Troy will need an adopter who is comfortable and experienced in addressing behavioral needs and providing a patient decompression period.
