Meet Dezzie (ACCT-A-252973)! This gentle and sensitive soul is looking for a patient home where she can truly shine. Dezzie is a sweet girl who appreciates a slow and steady approach to making new friends. At her kennel, she often greets visitors with soft eyes and a polite, low wagging tail.

Dezzie is an absolute dream on a leash, walking nicely by your side as you explore together. While she can be a bit of an introvert-preferring to take in the scents of the world around her rather than jumping right into the middle of the action-she is incredibly tolerant and calm. She would do best in an adult-only home where she can be given the time and reassurance she needs to feel fully comfortable. If you are looking for a quiet, respectful companion to join you on peaceful walks, Dezzie might be the perfect match for you!

Behavioral Notes 06/20/2026 per staff: Meeting Huey - Moved away often, fidget stress response mimicking play. Tolerant He came on very strong.

06/20/2026 per staff behavioral eval: Kennel Presentation: standing with low wagging tail and soft eyes, lip lick, sniffed leash and backed away with a small bounce, then moved head into leash.

Leash Skills: walks on a loose leash, tail Low and stiff, tucked at times particularly when I would touch the dog.

Sociability: Aloof, tolerant. Slightly tucked tail, paw lift, mouth closed, ears back and eyes averted. Moved away and would not approach when prompted. Not eating offered treats, sniffs then ignored

Play: no interest in toys

Dog Interaction: dog passed by pen outside, air scented and looked softly in that direction. ignores dogs walking thru kennels

Return to Kennel: easy

Color Level: gold

Recommendations and considerations: go slow, give time and reassurance

06/15/2026 playgroup: Steerable 3/5 with water. Did not test can due to fearful at the fence. Came in slow, tail low, sniffing around. High tail, ears back when greeted by another dog. Then play bowed, mid tail wags and moved away. Was moving away from other dogs the remainder of her time in the yard.
