Anchor 3899

Meet Anchor, a sweet and goofy boy who has been with us since March. Shelter life has been a bit overwhelming for him, but we've discovered a wonderful dog beneath his nervous exterior. New people and unfamiliar situations can be intimidating for Anchor, but once he feels safe and secure, his true personality truly shines through! He is a medium-sized, adult male, mixed breed with a white and cream coat. Anchor is house-trained, knows "sit," and responds well to consistent guidance. He has also lived successfully with other dogs after proper introductions and enjoys playful wrestling and zoomies once he's comfortable. Volunteers have found him to be a wonderful house guest who loves to cuddle and be part of the family.

Ideal Home

Anchor needs a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let him adjust at his own pace. He is not recommended for a home with cats.

Ongoing Health

Anchor has developed kennel anxiety and is currently receiving medication to help manage his stress. He is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Anchor can be shy and fearful with unfamiliar people, especially men, and may need time to build trust. He can also pull on the leash and would benefit from continued training. While initially frightened of new experiences, he has shown he can overcome his fears with patience and positive interactions.
