Raquel

Raquel is an eleven-month-old Anatolian Shepherd with a heart as big as her stature. She arrived at our shelter from a difficult hoarding situation where she didn't receive the socialization she needed. While she was physically cared for, Raquel is still learning to navigate the world and trust new experiences. She's incredibly sweet and eager to connect, but new things can initially be overwhelming, requiring a little patience as she processes.

Raquel is showing fantastic progress, moving past her initial shyness. She’s not quite as confident as some of the other dogs from her group, but she’s improving daily and will continue to blossom in the right environment. She is learning about indoor living, leash walking, and everyday routines, and while she's inexperienced, she's not difficult. Consistency, routine, and patience will be key to her continued development.

Ideal Home

Raquel would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly resident dog who can serve as a positive role model. A securely fenced yard is a must, and given her tendency to startle and her ongoing confidence-building journey, we recommend a home with children over 10 years old. She is good with other dogs and cats.

Ongoing Health

Raquel has no known health conditions to report at this time.

Training & Support

Raquel is working on leash walking, indoor living etiquette, and adjusting to general household activities. She will benefit from continued patience, routine, and consistency to help her build confidence and learn new skills.
