Toby is a 1-year-old, 11 lb. French mix bursting with love, kisses, and energy. He thrives on walks, running, and playing with other dogs, and he has a special fondness for men. Toby's journey began with abandonment and a car accident, but after dedicated care, he's now healthy and ready for his second chance. While he's generally a happy pup, he may have occasional bursts of anxious energy. He's looking for an active and patient family who can help him channel his zest for life through play, walks, and plenty of affection. Toby is loyal and eager to become a cherished member of his forever family.
Ideal Home
Toby would do best in a home with a tall, fenced backyard. An active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a genuine commitment to rescuing a dog, rather than just adopting, would be a wonderful fit. He needs a family with an open mind regarding the behaviors of rescued street animals and who understands their need for protection and education.
Ongoing Health
Toby has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI vaccines (2 doses), a rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and a microchip. He has also tested negative for heartworm and has a negative 4DX test. He is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. He has a health certificate and a vaccination booklet. It's important to note that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period and patience as they adapt to a new environment and people.
Training & Support
Toby is not house-trained. He may show anxious bursts of energy and will benefit from an owner with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer to help him thrive. Patience and understanding are crucial for helping him overcome any past traumas and build trust.
