Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is smart, loyal, and affectionate. He bonds deeply with his people and is happiest when he feels included and secure. Dex loves to play, especially tug of war and catch, and he gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He's exceptionally good at reading social cues and will back off if another dog isn't interested in playing. On leash, Dex is a dream, walking calmly without pulling and showing no reactivity to other dogs. He's intelligent, eager to learn, and enjoys structure and having a job to do. Dex is fully house-trained and crate-trained, happily going into his crate when asked and sleeping through the night. He can also be left unsupervised in the house when his energy needs are met and doesn't engage in destructive behaviors.
Ideal Home
Dex would thrive in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks and outdoor time. Due to his strong prey drive, he is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. He would do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries, as he can be unsure and may growl when he initially meets new people.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions or procedures are mentioned.
Training & Support
Dex is intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to training. Continuing his training and providing him with structure will help him thrive.
