About Chip

Hi, I'm Chip! I'm about 4 months old and likely a mix of Pittie and Shepherd. I was found as a stray and thankfully rescued by Save-A-Bull. I'm a high-energy pup, but once my energy is spent, I'm happy to relax and chill. I'm very smart and learn quickly – I even mastered the treadmill in just two days! I'm highly food-motivated, which makes training and learning new obedience skills a breeze. My foster family thinks I have the potential to be a great sport dog!

I'm getting the hang of potty training and haven't had any accidents in my kennel. I haven't quite figured out how to signal at the door when I need to go out, but if you remember to take me, I'll do my business. I sleep well in my crate at night, but I get a little anxious when I'm crated during the day. My foster family is working with me on this separation anxiety, teaching me that my crate is a safe space. With continued support, I'm sure I'll become more confident being on my own. I'm also learning to walk nicely on a leash, and with guidance, I'll be a pro in no time! I'm currently living with an energetic two-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd, and we're learning to navigate our play styles. I haven't lived with children or cats, and I don't recall my past experiences with them.

Ideal Home

My ideal family is an active one that is motivated to teach me new tricks and guide me in developing new skills. I need an environment where I can burn my energy both physically and mentally. A home with a 6-foot fence is important, as I'm an escape artist and have been known to jump smaller gates, likely due to my dislike of being alone. This urge may lessen as I gain more confidence.

Ongoing Health

I am a young puppy and still developing.

Training & Support

I am learning what is good behavior and what is bad behavior and need someone willing to continue teaching me. With proper management, training, and socialization, I can achieve the skills I need to be a well-behaved companion.
