Buddy Edward is a charming middle-aged Shih Tzu with a big personality and a bit of a belly! He's currently working on his weight, but don't let that fool you – he's the happiest, snortiest, waddliest little guy around. He came to us at 18 lbs, and while his vet says his bloodwork looks great, we're committed to helping him shed a few pounds to ensure a long and healthy life. His foster is diligently managing his diet with special kibble and one meal a day.
Buddy has a lovely coat of curly white and tan fur. He previously had some bald spots due to skin infections, but they've since grown back beautifully. As with many breeds, Buddy will require regular professional grooming to keep his coat in tip-top shape, in addition to regular exercise.
Ideal Home
Buddy enjoys the company of cats, small dogs, and big dogs, so he could fit into many different household dynamics. He absolutely adores attention and loves to snuggle up on his foster mom's lap.
Ongoing Health
Buddy is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is microchipped and neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is on preventative medication. We are closely monitoring his weight to prevent any obesity-related health issues.
Training & Support
This little guy is already leash-trained and potty-trained, and he loves going on car rides and adventures! He came to us from a situation where his elderly owners struggled to care for their pets, and while Buddy was more house-trained than his companions, he's received thorough care and attention since arriving.
