Jace is a 55-pound bulldog mix with a coat of white and brown. He's as sweet as can be and loves nothing more than to snuggle up for belly rubs and head scratches. Jace is a smart cookie, already working on commands like "sit," "down," and "leave it." He's a motivated learner, especially when treats are involved! His favorite toys include Kongs filled with goodies, bones, and stuffed animals. Jace enjoys a game of fetch, though he's not always keen on returning the ball, and he loves tug-of-war. He'd be the perfect best friend, happily following you around the house and chilling by your side. Jace is a bit of a goober and doesn't quite realize his size, often trying to snuggle in laps just to be close.
Ideal Home
Jace would do best in a home where he can be your sole focus or with a family that understands his need to be the only pet in the household. While he loves cats, he can become protective of his food around them.
Ongoing Health
Jace has a slight cosmetic condition on one side of his face where it will never fill in, likely due to an old injury. He has completed heartworm treatment and is neutered and vaccinated.
Training & Support
Jace is potty and crate trained and walks well on a leash. He can exhibit food guarding due to past starvation, so it's important to manage his meals. While he is not good with dogs, this stems from fear rather than true aggression, a result of being chained in a yard for most of his life. With patience and understanding, Jace can learn to trust and thrive.
