Huey is a handsome and athletic 2-year-old boy who is estimated to be a Labrador mix. He weighs 56 lbs and has wonderfully expressive ears that don't miss a thing! Huey's foster family has been working on his training, and he's become quite the home-life ready companion. He's incredibly smart, motivated, and responds well to confident leadership. Huey is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows how to settle indoors. He loves to be close to his people, often following them around like a quiet shadow. Huey also enjoys car rides and is happy to relax on the couch after an adventure.
Ideal Home
Huey would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play. Apartment living is not his preference, as he needs space to be active and dislikes frequent leash walks in busy areas. While he has lived happily with children in the past, long-term living with kids is not ideal for him. He can be a wonderful companion for visits with children, but he prefers a peaceful, adult-oriented home environment for his day-to-day life.

Training & Support
Huey shows resource guarding behavior around food, meaning he doesn't like other dogs attempting to eat his food. This is easily managed by feeding him (and other dogs) in separate crates and avoiding feeding treats or table scraps to any pets. For PNW adoptions, transport is via a USDA licensed semi-truck. For East Coast adoptions, transport is via a private, air-conditioned van or bus.
