Meeka is a gorgeous petite German Shepherd girl who weighs about 53lbs. She has incredible soft fur to the touch and is a beautiful brown-eyed girl. At 5-6 years old, she has lots of companionship still to give. Meeka is an owner surrender from a family who had no time for her. If you know anything about anxiety, you will understand Meeka. She has been through quite a few changes in her life, and when anxious, she turns in circles and barks. This is easily and quickly stopped by throwing a ball for her or giving her a stuffed animal. Most of the time, she is an exceptionally calm dog with low to medium energy, except when playing fetch, her very favorite thing to do! Recently, a group of local high school-aged volunteers had a terrific visit playing soccer with her, and Meeka LOVED it! She is sweet and friendly with everyone. She is extremely loyal and comforting and likes to stay close and loves to cuddle on the couch. She is EXTREMELY gentle, even taking her food from her bowl or treats from your fingers so softly and gently. Meeka is wonderful and non-reactive with all other dogs; nobody fazes her! She walks well on the leash and does great on car rides. We have not cat-tested her, but she doesn't seem to have prey drive, so she may do fine with them with a bit of coaching. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is house-trained and does not need a crate. She likes to be pampered and groomed.
Ideal Home
Meeka would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of playtime, especially fetch! She enjoys cuddling on the couch and staying close to her people.

Meeka can exhibit anxious behaviors like spinning and barking when anxious, which can be quickly resolved by offering a ball or a stuffed animal. She is house-trained and does not need a crate.

Transportation
Meeka is currently being fostered near Houston, TX. She is an "out of town pet" and can be transported to a location near you. Transport occurs once a month via air-conditioned/heated vans from our Rescue Ranch in Fulshear, TX, to various locations. An additional $260 transport fee applies. You will be included in a group chat to track your dog during transport, with updates on their location and estimated arrival time. Please note that traffic and weather can affect arrival times. Dogs on transport stop for breaks and are crated for safety.
