Mickie

Mickie is a sweet and intelligent Chihuahua mix with a wonderful personality. He is very social and enjoys being around people and other dogs. Although he may be a little reserved at first, once he feels comfortable and builds trust, his affectionate nature quickly comes out. He loves to run, play, go for walks, and spend time with his humans. Mickie is obedient, playful, and very loving. He enjoys both giving and receiving affection and gets along well with dogs, children, men, and women, making him a great match for many types of families. Mickie uses his crate for sleeping and does well with a routine. He is eager to bond, learn, and adapt, and he will quickly become a loving and loyal member of his adoptive family. He is ready to give and receive lots of love in his forever home.

Ideal Home

Mickie would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog and an open conscience about the needs and behaviors of street animals. Experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is preferred. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.

Ongoing Health

Mickie has received a spay/neuter certificate, 2 DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, a Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and is microchipped. He has also had a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. A health certificate and vaccine booklet are also included. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and may require an adjustment period. Patience and understanding are crucial for these animals to adapt to new environments and people.

Training & Support

Mickie is not house-trained. It's important to note that rescued pets often require significant patience and understanding as they adjust to new homes and may have fears or anxieties due to past experiences. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries can help them feel secure.

• Fill out our adoption form.
• Send photos/videos of your home.
• If it's a match, we'll call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We'll speak with 1-2 of your references.
• If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Transporation

Mickie is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted. Transportation is available for an additional fee of $400 USD, which covers door-to-door delivery. Our transport company collects adopted pets from Mexico, ensures they have all necessary legal documents, and escorts them across the border into Texas for US adoptions. For Canadian adoptions, pets are delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. Regular updates will be provided through a private Facebook Messenger group, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
