About Loki

Loki is a 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother and littermates and has grown up loved and cared for in a foster home. Loki is the fearless ringleader of his litter, always the first to explore and bravely announce his presence. He's confident, curious, and adventurous, often found conquering furniture like a champion climber or engaging in playful games of keep-away with his favorite toys. He has a habit of waking everyone up for playtime and enjoys food immensely, often leading the charge for treats and dinner. Despite his energetic antics, Loki is also an incredibly sweet companion who loves to cuddle after a day of adventure. He's done well with children and other dogs and has some crate training experience. Loki is potty trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He can be a little hesitant with new experiences but quickly overcomes it.

Ideal Home

Loki would thrive in a home that can provide consistent positive reinforcement and help build his confidence. He would benefit greatly from a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor him. If a home does not have another dog, a strong plan for continued socialization and structured training will be necessary. Homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are preferred due to his young age.

Ongoing Health

Loki is a healthy young dog.

Training & Support

Loki is potty trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new environment. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is crucial for building his confidence.
