Posey - LOCAL - RI foster

Meet Posey, a resilient and loving pit bull terrier mix who is ready to trade a life of uncertainty for a happily ever after. This beautiful girl, estimated to be around 2 years old, has a heartwarming story of survival. She was found wandering alone and pregnant, and sadly, her puppies were never located. After a dedicated rescue effort, Posey made her way to New England, where she has blossomed into a devoted companion. She absolutely adores people and quickly charmed everyone at the veterinary clinic with her affectionate nature. Posey is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and has started heartworm treatment.

Ideal Home

Posey would thrive in a home where she can be the sole canine companion. While she can see other dogs calmly on walks, she prefers to be the only dog in her living space. She is good with children over 12 years old.

Training & Support

Posey is working through some crate-related separation anxiety and can become vocal when left alone. With patient, consistent, and positive reinforcement training, she is making encouraging progress and learning to relax. Her foster mom is actively working with her on redirecting her focus and keeping her calm when passing other dogs on walks, and she is showing steady improvement.
