Juice

Meet Juice, a charming 4-year-old, 56 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with the most soulful eyes and a heart yearning for a safe, loving haven. Known to his foster as Joey, he's a sweet boy ready to finally settle down and become someone's devoted companion. Juice loves to be affectionate and cuddly, cherishing his toys, but his favorite pastime is simply being near his person, often resting his head and paw on your arm in a quiet display of love. He can be a bit shy and cautious around new people, but with slow, gentle introductions, he blossoms into a deeply loyal and devoted friend.

Ideal Home

Juice would thrive in a calm, quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults who understand that healing and trust take time. He needs a loving environment where he can feel safe and be someone's "whole world." A cat-free home is a must, as he is not friendly towards cats and will chase them. Juice would also be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the attention and not feel the need to guard his space around other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, but with stability and routine, he has made great progress and now eats separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, which can be easily managed by respecting his boundaries.

Training & Support

Juice can pull on the leash when excited and is working on this. He responds best to patience and kindness; harsh corrections can make him cower and feel guilty. He is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing, and he sleeps well in his crate at night. While he does great in the car, he might need a little help getting in. He has had some potty accidents, but with consistency and routine, this can be managed.

• Once you complete the initial screen, you will be connected for a video chat.
• Transports run every few weeks, and approved dogs will be on the next available transport.
• If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time, please apply at that time.
• We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. If you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply.
• If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please ensure you have spoken with them and they are on board.
