Meet Dill!

Dill is a 4-year-old Catahoula mix with a gentle heart who is learning that the world isn't as scary as he once thought.

When Dill first arrived at Runaways Animal Rescue, he was terrified of almost everything. Walking on a leash was overwhelming, and he barely felt comfortable leaving his kennel. Since then, Dill has made incredible progress and continues to gain confidence every day.

The secret to his success? A good friend.

Dill's calm canine buddy, Pit, has shown him that people can be kind, new experiences can be safe, and life isn't so scary after all. With Pit by his side, Dill has blossomed and started to enjoy the world around him.

Dill is looking for a patient adopter who will allow him to move at his own pace and continue building confidence. He would thrive in a quiet, low-activity home with another calm and confident dog to help guide him. He would also do best with older children (15+) who understand the importance of giving him space and time to settle in.

Good with cats! Dill is actually more intimidated by cats than they are by him. He prefers to leave them alone and happily coexist.

Dill may not be the dog who rushes up to greet everyone, but for the person willing to earn his trust, the reward will be immeasurable. Watching him discover that the world can be a safe and happy place is truly something special.
