Big Mama is an affectionate, athletic, adventure-loving 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who enjoys going on walks and meeting new people! She was found weighing over 70lbs but has since reached a healthier weight of around 60lbs. Big Mama was discovered lying in the middle of a road before being rescued and taken to a local shelter. Due to her breed mix, she was at risk of euthanasia, but thankfully, she was networked to safety! Big Mama is incredibly people-friendly and loves to cuddle. She can be a bit unaware of her size when she's excited and zooming around, but don't let that fool you – this girl can MOVE! While she loves to lounge indoors, she's ready for playtime once she's outside. Big Mama has done well with most dogs she's met, particularly medium to large male dogs, but she can be assertive with other female dogs. A home with only male dogs would be ideal for her. She doesn't require a canine sibling to be happy. Big Mama is potty and crate trained, knows "sit" and "shake," is very smart, and walks well on a leash.
Ideal Home
A home ready for an athletic and energetic companion! Big Mama is unaware of her size at times, so a home without young children would be best. She would do best in a home with only male dogs, as she can be assertive with female dogs.
