Oscar is a sweet 1-year-old Labrador mix, weighing about 32 lbs, with a big heart and a joyful spirit. He's a social butterfly who instantly builds trust with everyone he meets, including children, men, and women. Oscar loves being around people and enjoys playing with other dogs. His friendly personality makes him incredibly endearing. He does have a slight neurological tic due to distemper, noticeable when he's resting, but it doesn't affect his happy-go-lucky nature or his loving disposition.
Ideal Home
Oscar would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard, where he can play and enjoy outdoor activities. He's looking for a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog and who understands the needs of rescued animals, recognizing their potential need for protection and education. An ideal adopter will have experience with dog behavior and training or be willing to hire a trainer to help this intelligent dog reach his full potential. Patience and a high tolerance for rescued puppies are essential.
Ongoing Health
Oscar has a mild neurological tic due to a past bout of distemper. This is cosmetic and does not impact his quality of life, his happy demeanor, or his loving nature. He has received comprehensive veterinary care, including spay/neuter, vaccinations (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), deworming, microchipping, and monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He has also tested negative for heartworm and is up-to-date on all his health certificates.
Training & Support
Oscar is not currently house-trained. It is important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period, and patience is crucial as they adapt to a new environment. Providing a safe and loving space, establishing a routine, and offering clear boundaries will help Oscar feel secure and build a strong bond with his new family.

Transporation
Oscar is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast via our cross-country transport service. Our team organizes 3-4 trips per year, and Oscar can be delivered directly to your door. A transport fee of $400 USD applies. The transport process includes a contracted company that ensures safe travel with all necessary legal and health documentation. You will receive real-time updates throughout his journey.
