Meet Kai, a 4-year-old spayed shepherd mix who embodies pure joy and enthusiasm! Weighing in at 47 pounds, Kai is a bundle of happy energy, always ready for a good romp or a cuddle session. She's currently enjoying life in San Antonio, Texas, but don't let the distance deter you – our rescue can arrange transport out of state once she finds her perfect match!

Kai is a social butterfly who adores making new friends, both human and canine. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and has a special fondness for children. Her zoomies are legendary, often accompanied by happy barks of excitement as she chases and plays. When she's not busy burning energy, Kai loves to entertain herself with toys. She's also a pro at playtime with her doggy pals. After a good play session, she's happy to settle down for some quality petting, belly rubs, and snuggles.

Kai is a well-behaved girl inside the home. She's house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although she might pull a bit on the leash when she spots another dog – she's just too excited to say hello! She navigates stairs with ease and is a fantastic car rider, making her a versatile companion for any adventure. While she's comfortable being left out in her foster home, we do recommend crating new dogs initially to help them adjust. Kai can be a little nervous during loud noises or storms, but with gentle reassurance, she quickly calms down.

Training & Support

Kai is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. She may pull on the leash when excited by other dogs. She can be nervous during loud noises or storms but settles with reassurance.

• Transports run every few weeks, and dogs will be on the next available transport once approved.
