Loki is a brave, bold, and endlessly entertaining 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix who weighs around 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mom and siblings and has grown up in a loving foster home. Loki is the fearless ringleader of his litter, always the first to explore and ready for adventure. He's an expert climber and loves to play keep-away with his toys. While he has plenty of playful energy, he's also developing into an incredible companion. He is potty trained but may have a few accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. Loki is generally confident but can be a little hesitant with new experiences, though this never lasts long. He loves food and will make sure to get his share! After a day of play, he transforms into a cuddly lap buddy. Loki adores people and other dogs and recently charmed everyone at a community event. He's lived with children and has some experience with crates. He is still working on leash skills and basic obedience but is eager to learn.
Ideal Home
Loki is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature. A home with another friendly, well-mannered dog is preferred to help mentor him. If you don't have another dog, a plan for continued socialization through training classes, daycare, or playdates is essential. Because Loki is still young, homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are also preferred.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Loki is potty trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new environment. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building lifelong confidence.
