KING

King is a handsome adult male Pit Bull Terrier mix who is looking for a very specific kind of home. He's currently a bit overwhelmed by new people and can show his discomfort with growling and barking, often by trying to avoid having his leash put on. Our dedicated volunteers are working hard to build trust and create positive associations with him, but he needs a patient and experienced individual or family to continue this journey outside of the shelter. Without that crucial progress, his quality of life here is a concern.

Ideal Home

King would do best in a home with limited handlers who can commit to building his confidence slowly and with positive reinforcement. He needs someone who understands fear-based behaviors and is willing to work with him on his own terms.

King is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

Training & Support

King is displaying defensive, fear-based behaviors and needs an adopter experienced with this. He needs consistent, positive reinforcement to build trust and overcome his reluctance to being leashed. Patience and understanding are key to his success.
