Izzy

Meet Izzy! This sweet, adventurous girl is about 3 years and 11 months old and is a beautiful American Foxhound mix. Izzy is a shy-at-first lady, but once she warms up, she's incredibly friendly, energetic, loyal, playful, and smart. She's been with us since May 2023, arriving as a young mama with her seven pups. Her babies have all found their forever homes, and now it's Izzy's turn to find her own happy ending filled with sofa snuggles and backyard adventures! She has a nose that never quits, a tail that never stops wagging, and a brain that loves a good challenge.

Ideal Home

Izzy would thrive in an adult-only home with a tall fence, at least 4 feet high, as she has Olympic-level sniffing goals and is quite the climber. She needs an active household that is savvy with hounds and a patient human who understands that good things (and goofy hounds) take time. She tends to prefer women and is cautious with new people initially but warms up quickly. She is not good with cats.

Ongoing Health

Izzy is healthy and has been altered in our care. She is ready for her new home!

Training & Support

Izzy is already housetrained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. She knows basic commands like "sit" and responds to "no" thanks to her work with our volunteers. She is independent, not overly vocal, and absolutely loves car rides.
