Abby

Abby is a charming 5-year-old female Newfoundland with a heart full of love, even if she expresses it in her own unique way! She came to us after experiencing some neglect, which led to a few developmental quirks. Thanks to a predictable environment and guaranteed dinners, Abby is now thriving. She adores her crate, using it as her personal sanctuary for her favorite toys, earning her the affectionate nickname 'Little Cave Dragon' from her foster mom. Abby flourishes with routine and a calm atmosphere, making a home with regular schedules and not too many visitors the perfect fit for her.

Ideal Home

A home with a predictable schedule and not too many visitors would be ideal for Abby. She needs a physically fenced yard, at least four feet high.

Ongoing Health

Abby experiences seasonal allergies during the summer, which are managed with daily Apoquel.

Training & Support

Abby is dog selective and prefers canines who respect her personal space. While she doesn't enjoy dogs that are overly boisterous, she does have a special bond with Gia, another dog in foster care, and they enjoy playing together. Abby has shown interest in cats and can be called away from them. She's not a big cuddler yet and can be a bit of a bull in a china shop if hugged unexpectedly. She's on the smaller side for her breed and would likely enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and swimming, provided these are introduced slowly into her routine.
