Lex is the epitome of a good time! This bouncy, playful girl is loving of everyone and excited to make new friends, human or canine alike. She knows how to have fun no matter where she is and is constantly booming with joy. Lex is the queen of zoomies, kisses, and tug. When she first met our team, she ran up with a wagging tail and a huge smile, showering everyone with affection. Lex loves to play hard with other dogs and is full of energy! Lex is a Pitbull Cattle Dog mix with beautiful cattle spotting and adorable pointed ears, weighing in at 56lbs of pure happiness. She did great in playgroup with all kinds of dogs, playing for long stretches. Lex has a rougher play style but is considerate and good at reading vibes, often playing hardest with confident female dogs. She would likely do well in a home with males or females, but seems to prefer the ladies. Be prepared for all-day play sessions!
Ideal Home
Lex needs a home with a yard and an active owner who is familiar with the energy and spirit of cattle dogs. She is a "wild child" who loves to be active and would run around the yard for hours if allowed. While she hasn't been kid-tested, we believe she would love children, ideally older kids who can handle her playful and active nature. Lex is a definite no for cats, as she showed too much excited interest that could lead to rough play.
Ongoing Health
Lex is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and a microchip with free lifetime registration.
Training & Support
Lex's leash skills need some perfecting as she can pull a little when excited to meet new people. She is a bright dog who would train well with consistency. Our trainers on staff assess and modify behavior as needed, creating individualized plans to help prepare dogs for their future families, including leash walking.

Transportation
Lex is currently in Texas. Transport is available nationwide with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
