Hartville

Say hello to Hartville (ACCT-A-253042), a social butterfly with the biggest heart! This friendly and cuddly girl is looking for her forever home where she can share her love. Hartville is a joy to be around-she is obedient, playful, and incredibly affectionate.

During a recent outing, Hartville showed just how much she loves to explore. While she can be a little strong on the leash when she is first excited to get outside, she relaxes beautifully once she has had a chance to sniff around. She is the ultimate people-person; she wanted to say hi to everyone she passed! Even with squirrels scurrying nearby, Hartville stayed focused and calm-an impressive feat for such a fun-loving pup.

In the yard, Hartville is a dainty and gentle spirit. She enjoys mingling with other dogs and giving sweet play bows. She is also a total cuddle bug who will hop right up on a bench next to you for some pets. She knows how to sit and is very food-motivated, making her a star pupil for future training. Whether she is out on a hike or relaxing by your side, Hartville is ready to be your most loyal companion!

Behavioral Notes 06/19/2026: Per day trip foster : Hartville was such a joy!! She was a bit strong on leash at first, but I think she was just super excited and stimulated! Once we walked for a bit, she really relaxed and loosened up. She loved sniffing in the Wissahickon and wanted to say hi to everyone who passed. She's so friendly!!

Not a single sign of aggression, even when I'd tug her to get out of the brush. She even sat down on the trail when we sat on a bench and waited for us until we were ready. She saw a squirrel less than 5 feet away and she was watching it, but didn't even go after it. Impressive!

She wasn't food motivated when she was stressed out, because who is, but during her walk, she started to take treats and after her walk she loved eating her nuggets!

We went to Petsmart to pick out some new toys and she was a little overwhelmed and not into the toys, but I think she just really loves people and wants to say hi to everyone she sees. The sweetest girl with the biggest heart!!!!

06/18/2026 per staff behavioral eval: Kennel Presentation: At the front of her kennel, ears to the side, soft eyes, low tail wags. Took a treat through the bars.

Leash Skills: Easy to leash and came right out. Pulled strong on leash, mid tail, ears back.

Sociability: Stayed nearby in the yard, would come over when called ears back, soft eyes, loose body, mid tail wags. Allowed all handling with the same body language and gently nudged by hand when I stopped. When I sat down on the bench, jumped up next to me, mid tail, loose body, ears back. Knows sit and is food motivated.

Play: Chased the toys I tossed then lost interest.

Dog Interaction: n/a

Return to Kennel: Walked back mainly pulling mildly, would pull strongly at times, ears back, mid tail wags. Stopped outside her kennel and pulled back on the leash slightly. Tossed in a treat and she hopped right in and leash was removed easily.

06/17/2026 playgroup: Steerable 3/5 with water and 0 with can. High tail, eras back when greetings. Moves away on her own. Mingling around, gentle dainty.

06/16/2026 playgroup: Steerable 3/5 with water and 2/5 with can. Slow entry to the yard. Mid tail wags, quick moves, play bows then moves away on her own. Handler oriented.
